Maria on Casualty "In terms of how I look, I feel more comfortable with a camera than on stage. A film camera, that is. I feel very very uncomfortable if I do TV because I know they don't have the time or money to light it properly - though I loved the year I spent in Casualty and wish, with hindsight, that I'd stayed longer." read full interview Regular Cast

Notes Casualty was first broadcast on Saturday 6 September 1986 and has remained popular with television audiences ever since. Although a series, each episode is fairly 'self-contained' and can therefore be viewed individually. The regular hospital (and ambulance) staff provide a thread throughtout the series - and their relationships with each other provide 'longer and deeper' storylines - while new patients in each episode provide episode specific story lines, and the opportunity to have guest stars.
